New Land Tours
Among Katarina Line’s new additions for 2019 are two customizable land programs that include “Active Spring” in Croatia’s Kvarner Region. One of the country’s most popular destinations, the area is known for its sweeping island views and vast coastline, surrounded by forests and mountains that offer countless miles of biking, hiking and walking trails. Katarina Line is also offering a “Bora and Salt” program that explores Croatia’s famous Bora winds that blow along the Adriatic coast and the Nin Salt Works, which have been operating for over 1500 years. There are also new guaranteed tours for FIT’s and groups that include the “Medjugorje Pilgrimage,” of which St. James’ Church serves as the central place of worship. The pilgrimage includes a visit to the Apparition Hill, where the Virgin Mary is believed to appear every month.
A Gem of a Cruise
Among Katarina Line’s new cruises for 2019 is the “Northern Gems,” a seven-day island-hopping voyage in the southern Adriatic Sea that departs from Split. The ship’s ports-of-call include the historic town of Trogir, known for its mix of Renaissance, Baroque and Romanesque architecture. The ship also makes a stop at the city of Šibenik, the “gateway to the Kornati Islands.” The largest and densest archipelago in the Adriatic, the Kornati islands encompass some 140 small islands, known for their natural beauty and secluded coves of clear blue water that are perfect for swimming. The cruise also visits the village of Sali and city of Zadar, known for its Roman and Venetian ruins, and the island of Zlarin, before returning to Split.

Divine Inspiration
Katarina Line’s 7-night “Divine Dalmatian” cruise departs from Dubrovnik and explores the Dalmatian islands and coastline. Highlights include visiting Dubrovnik’s famous town wall, swimming in secluded beaches, visiting the jet-set island of Hvar, and a tour of Mljet National Park, a protected area that is perfect for walking and cycling, with a ruggedly beautiful coastline, ancient ruins and saltwater lakes. The cruise also stops at Split, Bol, and Pelješac, a peninsula in southern Dalmatia known for its lush vineyards, dramatic scenery and great food.
